As an increasing number films are being shot in New Mexico, Albuquerque is quickly developing an identity as an alternative to Hollywood — although some film industry leaders say the Duke City’s reputation for movies is distinct.

In recent years, state lawmakers have approved tax incentives to work here, and films generally are cheaper to make than places like Los Angeles.
