Donaldson to moderate Congressional debates

Long time television reporter Sam Donaldson will moderate a trio of debates between the state’s Congressional candidates next month.

Public media including KNME-TV, Channel 5 will air debates between the state’s incumbents and their challengers ahead of the Nov. 4 election.

The debates will be:

1st Congressional District incumbent Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham and challenger Republican Mike Frese, Thursday Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.

2nd Congressional District incumbent Republican Steve Pearce and challenger Democrat Rocky Lara, Thursday Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

3rd Congressional District incumbent Ben Ray Lujan and challenger Republican Jefferson Byrd, Thursday, Oct. 30 and 7 p.m.

The debates will be simulcast on PBS stations KNME, Ch.5.1 (Albuquerque/Santa Fe), KENW, Ch.3 (Portales) KRWG, Ch.22 (Las Cruces) and on public radio stations KANW (89.1 FM) and KUNM (89.9 FM).
