News Port to host Twitter debate
UNM students next month will use Twitter to host a debate between the candidates for the state’s 1st Congressional District.
The candidates, incumbent Democrat Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham and challenger Republican Mike Frese, will answer questions from journalism students on Oct. 23 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
The students will ask questions of the candidates and then choose others from Twitter users who tweet during the debate. The debate questions and answers will use the #nm2014 hashtag.
The debate is part of the New Mexico News Port’s goal of reporting on and engaging citizens with the Nov. 4 election.
