A 1999 graduate from the University of New Mexico with degrees in journalism and Spanish, Kate spent almost 15 years covering city and state government for the Albuquerque Tribune, the Albuquerque Journal and the Santa Fe New Mexican. Her work took her on assignment around the state as well as to countries including Mexico and Venezuela.
Kate’s classes at UNM include Introduction to Media Writing, Newspaper Practice, Digital Journalism Ethics, and Mobile Reporting Technology. She also works as the writing coach at the New Mexico Daily Lobo.
Kate has a master’s degree in digital journalism and design from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and is interested in the intersection of technology and journalism. Follow her on Twitter.
