Video game collecting is becoming big business. Resellers and scalpers are making money, driving up the price for hobbyists and other game collectors.

This once-fan obsession is becoming a side hustle as consoles and games from the 80s and 90s — and also current models — are reselling for ridiculous prices as scalpers crowd the market.

What does this mean for the average video game collector?
