A photo finish for spring 2023

The end of the school year can look different for each student, teacher and faculty member of UNM.

See what it looks like through these moments captured around campus in the final weeks.

Skygazing or an afternoon nap? A Lobo hiding behind a tree outside of Scholes Hall is taking advantage of the shade.
A father waits for his son to finish class in Dane Smith Hall. Why is he reclining under a tree by the Duck Pond? “I’m old and I like nature,” he said.
Statistics tutor Nathan puzzles over a difficult problem while tutoring Crystal in a study room in Zimmerman Library.
Student stress is at a high point at the end of the semester. Sophomore Sophia Ornelas relaxes by the Duck Pond with some leisure reading she said would hopefully take her mind off school.
Less time in the books can lead to more time on the court. Johnson Gym allows students, faculty, and alumni the opportunity to break a sweat before the gym converts to limited hours over the summer.
The show must go on for the administrators of the University. Faith Jaramillo, who was hired three weeks ago as an admin assistant, sets up meetings and conferences throughout the summer.
Alfonso Vargas has been in college for the past six years. He has switched majors twice and is on track to graduate in the spring with a degree in math.
Students can look forward to new changes in the next school year. Outside of the Communication and Journalism Building, UNM is building new walkways to connect Central Avenue to campus.
